Miscellaneous Monday: more Free (or almost free) Family Activities for anytime
Last week for Thrifty Thursday I shared a list of activities that families can do after a disaster that were cheap, today I am continuing that list with ideas families can use for FHE, for family get togethers or just anytime. Have fun!
Play at the park, wash the car, build an indoor fort, look at family pictures, do genealogy (some is free anyway), go to the library, read, hopscotch or 4-corners, color corners, board & card games (minus the initial expense of buying or making), clean the house!, yard-work, charades, do a play, make a collage from magazine pictures, play basketball, soccer, color, tell stories, write out a story, sing songs, write letters, play tag, hide and seek, bike ride, hike, capture the flag, ultimate frisbee, listen to music together, make music together using various household/kitchen items, do a service project, organize your 72 hour kits, garden, swim, bake something and share it, go to the cemetery (look for own family or simply walk around), go to a museum, visit a neighbor, redecorate a room (paint, rearrange the furniture), go on a walk, do a scavenger hunt, write in journals, exercise, make something (craft, artwork), dance, climb tress, watch the sun rise or set, go on a picnic, memorize a song or scripture, role play making right decisions, repair something, have a family testimony meeting, blow bubbles, watermelon seed contests, watch a movie at home, make paper airplanes or hats, have a family talent show, make a menu and then play restaurant, have your own master chef contest--see who can create a delicious meal with specific ingredients, do/play a puzzle, race, play in the sprinkler, go on a treasure hunt, take a walk on the beach, inventory your food storage and emergency supplies
learn a new skill: language, dance, musical instrument, how to use a compass, learn the constellations, morse code, how to build a fire, tie knots, learn about another culture, learn first aid, learn manners and etiquette (and then practice), how to make a favorite dish, learn how to paint or take pictures, learn to make bread from scratch (or other food items)
